After a delicious hotel breakfast, our group headed outside to meet our local guide, Haaken. We walked for several hours, through various neighborhoods, ending up in the Old Town. Haaken lived in the area with his partner and we ended our tour at his apartment, where he answered any questions we had about Stockholm and Sweden.
After our tour, we had some time for lunch. I went to a cafe with several other group members, and we had lunch outside in the sun.
We met back up with the whole group after lunch, and headed to the water. We caught a ferry over to Djurgarden, where several museums are located. We headed to the Vasa museum, where our guide gave us a quick overview, then set us free for the afternoon. The Vasa museum was really interesting and so impressive. I couldn't believe how big the ship was! One of my favorite things about Rick's tours is that you can spend as much or as little time as you want when you have free time. I don't like crowds, so I headed out of the Vasa museum and caught a tram back to our neighborhood. I rested for a few minutes at the hotel, then headed back out. I had booked a fika tour, where we would go to different bakeries and sample different local pastries. After sitting at the meeting point for too long, I discovered the company had listed the time wrong. I was bummed, but instead wound my way back to our neighborhood, stopping at different bakeries and did my own pastry tour! I wandered back to the hotel, where I had a light dinner. We were leaving Stockholm the next day, so I packed up as much as I could to make the morning easier. I headed to bed with sore feet after a great day exploring.
