I woke up early and did a quick workout in the hotel gym. I had another delicious hotel breakfast, eating with Heidi and Pinge. The group met in the lobby and Heidi took us on a walking tour of Bryggen, the historical part of town. I found a cafe that I had been following on instagram and made a note to come back later if I had time. The group then walked up the hill to the Mt. Fløyen station, where we took the Fløibanen funicular up the mountain. It was a quick ride; we passed through a tunnel and then had sweeping views of the city and water. Once we got to the top, we had the afternoon to ourselves. It was incredibly crowded, so I walked away from the crowds as soon as I could! I passed a herd of goats and then found a troll park, where there were trolls carved into tree trunks. I got as many pictures of the views as I could before I had to get away from the crowds, so I headed back down the mountain.
After I found my way down on the funicular, I had some time to wander before my next adventure. I found the cafe I wanted to return to and got an iced chai tea to cool off with. I walked through town, stopping in at a few stores. I then headed back to the hotel to cool off. I had booked another boat tour, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to go. I had been on so many boats already this tour and wasn't sure if this would be worth it or different enough. I decided to go, because who knows if I would ever get to do it again? I made my way down to the waterfront, where it was a quick walk to the boat. I'm so glad I decided to go - the views were incredible and because the boat was smaller, the captain was able to get up really close to some waterfalls.
The boat got back to the dock later in the afternoon, and I headed back through the food stands for a pre-dinner snack. I found my last soft ice of the trip and decided that Denmark had the best ice cream. I wandered back through town to the hotel to clean up before our last group dinner. We met back in the hotel lobby and walked a few blocks away to our restaurant. We were served a delicious Jerusalem artichoke soup with truffle, lamb with risotto and berries with marscapone for dessert. One of our tour mates brought chocolate for everyone in apology for being late the day we were at the open air museum! We had a nice dinner together, then went our separate ways. I had an early flight in the morning so I needed to get back and rearrange my bags to fit all the mugs and coffee I bought.
